Nikita Enterprises

Down here on Yerwada Nehru Nagar Road 8, you’ll find Nikita Enterprises. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time now. It’s a narrow road and parking can be a real pain if you arrive after ten in the morning. Our office is right in the middle of all the noise and activity of the neighborhood. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, a couple of computers, and stacks of ledgers. We do a bit of everything here, mostly clerical work and keeping track of supplies. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that kind of thing. My cousin helps out a few days a week when things get hectic. We have a small fan that rattles in the corner which helps when the heat gets bad in May. We know the neighbors pretty well, like the guy who runs the hardware shop next door. Most of our work comes from people nearby who have known us for years. We don't go in for fancy advertisements or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a plain, honest way to spend the day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s just how life goes in this part of Yerwada. We keep things moving as well as we can. Every evening we lock the gate and walk to the bus stop.
