Nikhil Watch

If you head over to Sangarsh Chowk in the Banaswadi area of Chandan Nagar, you’ll find Nikhil Watch. I’ve been here for a long time, watching the area change around us. It used to be much quieter, but now it’s always humming. I spend most of my time behind the glass counter. People bring in watches that have seen better days. Maybe they went for a swim with it or hit it against a door frame. I’ve seen it all. I keep a lot of different tools handy because every watch brand seems to do things a little differently. It can be frustrating when you can't find a specific part, but usually, I can make something work. Chandan Nagar is a busy place to run a shop, and Sangarsh Chowk is right in the middle of the action. I keep the shop open pretty regular hours. It’s not a big corporate operation, just me and the watches. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the heavy traffic goes by, but we get by. I like the routine of opening up, cleaning the glass, and getting to work on whatever is sitting in the "to-do" tray. People around here trust me with their things, and that’s enough for me. I don’t need anything fancy. Just a good light and my tweezers. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but I've got a small fan that does the job. That's just the way it goes here.
