New Tea House is located in Aundh Gao, which is a part of Aundh that still feels a bit like the old days compared to the newer buildings nearby. We start our day pretty early when it is still dark outside because that is when the first people want their tea. The stove stays on for most of the day, heating up the pots and making sure the milk is ready. It's a small place, not much more than a counter and a few spots for people to stand or sit for a minute. We use a lot of ginger and cardamom, and the smell usually drifts out onto the street. Aundh Gao has narrow lanes and it can get quite congested with bikes and people walking to the market. We know most of the people who come by because they live right around the corner or work in the shops nearby. It's a simple routine of pouring tea and washing glasses over and over again. We don't have a big menu or anything like that, just the basic tea that everyone likes. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and the years of cooking, but it gives the place some character. We just stay busy with the orders and keep the kettle whistling. It’s just a local tea spot where you can grab a quick drink before moving on with your day. We don't make a big deal of it.
