New Ideal Telecom

New Ideal Telecom is a small shop we run in the Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi. It is a crowded neighborhood, so there is always someone passing by the storefront. We mainly sell mobile phones, accessories, and do recharges for all the different networks. The shop is quite narrow, so we have to be organized with how we stack the boxes and chargers. I've been working here for a few years now, and I’ve seen the technology change so fast. We used to sell mostly basic keypad phones, but now everyone wants a smartphone with a big screen and a fast camera. We try to keep a variety of things so people have choices. It is not a high-end boutique. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is a bit worn down from all the foot traffic we get every day. We don't use fancy marketing tricks. If someone comes in with a broken phone, we look at it and tell them if it's worth fixing or not. We know the people in Govandi and they know they can come to us for a quick recharge or a new set of headphones when theirs break. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We open early and stay open until the street gets quiet at night. Just a regular telecom shop trying to help the locals stay connected without any fuss. It’s what we do here.
