Our setup is located between Baner and Warje Malwadi. It is more of an open area where we have different food stalls and some plastic chairs. It is a chaupati style place so it is very casual and can get quite messy. People drive in and park their bikes nearby to grab a quick bite to eat. The ground is just paved stone and sometimes there are puddles if it has rained recently. We have lights strung up overhead that look okay at night but they are just plain bulbs. The smell of different foods cooking all at once is the first thing you notice when you walk in. There is always someone shouting an order or the sound of metal spoons hitting the pans. It gets very crowded on Saturday nights and you might have to wait a while to find a place to sit down. We do not have any air conditioning because it is all open to the air. The fans we have just move the warm air around mostly. Kids run around while their parents eat and talk. It is a loud and busy environment where nobody really cares about being fancy. We spend a lot of time clearing away empty plates and wiping the yellow tables. It is just a local spot for people to eat outside without spending too much. We turn the big lights off at midnight. Then we start the long process of sweeping the whole area for the next day.
