Our shop is tucked away at 493 Kalpataru Housing Society in the Raviwar Peth area. If you walk through the narrow lanes there, you will eventually stumble upon us. It is a place filled with the sound of ticking and the small movements of gears. We have watches and clocks of all sorts hanging on the walls or tucked into glass cases. Some are brand new, while others look like they have been around for decades and have seen better days. The space is a bit cramped because we have a lot of tools and tiny spare parts spread out on the workbenches. Raviwar Peth is an old part of the city, and the vibe here is very traditional. People come in with watches that have stopped working or just need a new battery or a strap replaced. We spend a lot of time hunched over small pieces with magnifying glasses. It is quiet work in a noisy neighborhood. My father started this business, and we have just kept it going the same way. We don't do any big advertising or have a shiny storefront. It is just a counter, some stools, and a lot of tiny screws and springs. On some days, the sun hits the window just right and makes all the glass cases shine. We open up early in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It is a steady, slow kind of business.
