Navnath Pan Shop

Our little pan shop is right on Airport Road in Sambhajinagar, specifically near Thermax Chowk. It’s a spot where a lot of vehicles pass through every minute. We sit here from morning until late at night, watching the traffic go by. The shop itself is just a small wooden cabin basically, filled with different jars and packets. We spend a lot of time preparing the leaves and keeping the betel nuts ready. It’s not a complicated business. Most of our customers are people working in the factories around Thermax Chowk or drivers who need a quick break while heading towards the airport. Sometimes it gets really dusty because of the wind on the main road, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the counter. We know most of the regular guys who stop by for their daily fix. We talk about the weather or the traffic or whatever else is happening in Sambhajinagar. It’s a small space, so there isn’t much room for more than two people behind the counter. We don’t have a big sign with lights, just the name written on the board. On some days, the heat is quite bad, but we have a small stool to sit on when things are slow. We’ve been at this same spot for a long time now. It’s just what we do to get by, day in and day out, right here on the corner. It is a simple life.
