Navin Potbhar

We are located in Sadashiv Peth, which is one of the older parts of Pune. Our building is the Saptshrungi Apartment on Perugate Police Chowki Road. It’s a very traditional neighborhood. If you walk a little bit, you’ll see the Tilak Smarak Mandir. Navin Potbhar is just a small place where we focus on making sure people leave with a full stomach. That’s what Potbhar means, after all. We don't have a massive menu with a hundred items. We stick to the things we can cook well in our small kitchen. The area is quite narrow, and parking is always a headache for everyone, but people still find their way to us. I’ve lived in Pune all my life, so this place feels like home. The staff is just a few of us who have known each other for years. We talk to the customers like they are neighbors because often they actually are. Sometimes the police from the chowki come by for a quick snack. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We don't use any fancy machines to cook. It's mostly manual work, chopping and stirring. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we spend most of our time focusing on the stove. It’s an honest living. We just show up, cook, and go home once the food is finished. It’s simple work but we like doing it for the people here.
