Natraj Provision & General Stores

We are tucked into the Shiv Shakti Industrial Estate in Pimpri. It’s not like a normal neighborhood shop. Most of our customers are guys working in the factories nearby. They come in for tea leaves, soap to wash off the grease, or just some snacks for their break. The air in the industrial estate always smells a bit like oil and metal. Our shop is simple. We have metal shelves and a concrete floor. It’s easy to wash down. We don't have fancy lights, just some long tubes that hum. Pimpri is a busy place, always trucks moving around. Sometimes a big lorry blocks our front for an hour. We just wait. We sell a lot of heavy-duty stuff that regular stores might not keep. Bulk packs of tea and big jars of pickles. The counter is tall so we can see over the stacks of boxes. We eat our lunch standing up most days. There isn't really a place to sit. We’ve been here in Shiv Shakti for a long time. We know the shift timings of all the plants. When the whistle blows, we know we’re about to get a rush. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy. We don't have time for much else. Just stocking, selling, and cleaning up. It’s a plain life but we’re used to the noise and the dust of the estate now.
