We work out of 103 Pimpri. It’s a busy spot and the noise of the machinery is something you just get used to after a few days. We deal with steel, mostly just cutting and moving it for various local jobs. The yard is usually filled with stacks of different sizes and shapes of metal. It can get pretty dusty and hot during the summer months. We have a small team here. Most of us have been doing this for quite some time now. We don't have a fancy lobby or any air conditioning in the main work area. It’s just a place where we get the work done. The trucks come in early and we spend a lot of the morning loading them up. Sometimes there are mistakes in the measurements and we have to fix them right then. My desk is always covered in bits of paper and metal shavings. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the news while we wait for the next delivery. Pimpri is an industrial area so there are always sounds of hammers and drills from the neighbors. It isn't a glamorous job but it keeps us busy. We just try to make sure we have what people need when they show up. There isn't much more to it than that. We just handle the steel and keep the logs updated as best as we can.
