Naresh Super Shop

The shop is right here on Pradhikaran Annapurna Thakurdwar Road. It is building 464 on J S S Road. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around to make room. It gets hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front door directly. We keep the door open anyway. People come in for cold drinks or just a pack of cigarettes. We have shelves full of soaps, shampoos, and the basic kitchen stuff. It is not a very big place but we fit a lot in. The floor is old tiles. They are a bit cracked near the entrance where the heavy crates get dropped. We use a small calculator for everything. Sometimes the pen runs out of ink right when we are writing a bill. It is frustrating. My brother works the morning shift and I take over around two. We don't really have a big sign, just the name above the door. Most people around J S S Road know where we are. We try to keep the pulses in glass jars so people can see them. Sometimes the cat from next door sneaks in. We have to shoo it out. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. You talk to the same twenty people every single day. You know who likes which brand of tea. We just keep doing what we do. No big plans, just keeping the shelves stocked. The street outside is always noisy.
