Naik Hospital

This location of Naik Hospital is at 781/782 Laxmi Chhaya in Shukrawar Peth, Pune. We are right opposite the Jain Mandir, which makes it easy for people to find us. Laxmi Chhaya is a sturdy building that has been here for a long time. Shukrawar Peth is one of those old areas where everything feels familiar. We see the same tea sellers and shopkeepers every morning when we open up. The hospital itself is busy from the moment the doors are unlocked. We deal with all kinds of medical situations throughout the day. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s an active one. We have nurses and assistants who have been with us for years. They know the routine inside and out. The waiting area gets crowded, especially on Monday mornings. We try to keep the chairs clean and the water cooler filled. It’s the little things that matter when people are waiting. The bells from the temple across the street ring at certain times and it sort of marks the passing of our shift. Pune can get quite hot, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just help the people who come to us with their aches and pains. It’s a practical life. We finish our work, lock the doors, and come back the next day to do it all over again right here in the middle of Shukrawar Peth.
