Musharat General Stores

Our place is at 365 Shankar Sheth Road, right in the Ek Bote Colony area of Pune. It is a very busy road, so there is always the sound of horns and engines outside the door. Most of our regulars live right here in the colony and they just pop in for a minute or two. We carry the basic stuff like tea leaves, sugar, and various snacks. The shop is not very large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the crates of cold drinks. During the monsoon, the water sometimes splashes up from the road, so we have to keep the front tidy. I usually get here early to sweep the front and get the newspapers ready for the morning buyers. It is a simple life, really. We talk about the weather or the local news with whoever comes in to buy their daily bread. The shelves are made of wood and they have been there since we first opened up. We do not have any big displays or neon lights. It is just a straightforward shop where you can get what you need without a hassle. Sometimes the school children come in for a single chocolate or a pencil on their way home. We treat everyone the same whether they buy one thing or a whole bag of groceries. Being on such a major road means we see a lot of life passing by every single day.
