Musarrat General Store

Musarrat General Store is right here on Pune Satara Road in Swargate. We've been around in Ek Bothe Colony for quite some time now. Most people who live nearby know where we are. It’s a busy spot because of the main road. Every morning starts about the same. I get here early to open the shutters and sweep the front. There is always dust from the traffic. Then I start checking what we ran out of yesterday. Milk arrives first, then the bread guy comes by. It gets really crowded in the evenings when people are heading home from work. They stop for a packet of biscuits or some soap. Sometimes they just want change for a big note. We try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s hard to fit it all in because the space isn’t huge. You have to stack things high. My family helps out too when it gets too busy for one person to handle. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside when it’s quiet in the afternoon. We see the same faces every day. Mrs. Kulkarni comes for her tea leaves, and the kids from the school down the road want their snacks. It is a simple life running a shop here in Pune 411042. Nothing fancy about it. We just keep the doors open and talk to the neighbors. That is how the day goes by for us at Musarrat General Store.
