Murliwala Stores

Murliwala Stores is a small spot at 753 Ganesh Peth. If you know Pune, you know that Ganesh Peth is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are narrow and the buildings are packed together. Our store is right in the middle of that bustle. It’s a traditional general store setup. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of household things. Half the time, we are climbing ladders to get something down for a customer. It’s a bit cramped inside, and there are boxes stacked in the corners because there’s never enough room for everything we need to keep in stock. We spend the day weighing things out or bagging items for the people who live in the nearby wadas. The light inside the store isn't very bright, and it stays cool even when it's hot outside because of the old construction. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us managing the counter and the inventory. People come to 753 Ganesh Peth because they’ve been coming here for years. We know most of the people by their names or at least their faces. It’s not like those big supermarkets where nobody talks. Here, we hear about everyone’s family while we’re ringing up their items. It’s a slow and steady way of living, and the store is just part of the old neighborhood fabric. We just keep the doors open and wait for the bell to ring.
