We’ve been here in Sadashiv Peth for quite some time now. People around Judges Bunglow Road mostly know us just by the name on the board, Monika Foods. We do all sorts of food items. It started out pretty small, just a few things on the shelves, but slowly it grew because people kept asking for more. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working through the day, making sure the stock is fresh and the packets are sealed right. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in here, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home and stops by for their snacks or spices. We try to keep things organized but it’s a busy spot at 541. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different faces depending on the time of day. We handle everything from the sourcing to the packing ourselves. If you walk down the road near the building, you can’t really miss the shop. We don’t spend much time on the computer or doing advertisements, we just focus on what’s right in front of us. The shelves are always full of local favorites. It's nothing fancy, just good food that people use in their kitchens every day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still right here doing the same thing. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and we like the people who come in.
