Modern Technical Centre

We are located at 144 Narayan Peth, right near Kasat Chowk. If you know this part of the city, you know how tight the streets are and how many people are always walking around. Modern Technical Centre is in one of those older buildings that has seen a lot of years. The stairs are a bit narrow and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it serves us well. We do all our technical work here, mostly at the long wooden benches we’ve had since we opened. There’s a lot of fine work involved, so we have these bright lamps at every station. Outside, the sound of rickshaws and vendors in Kasat Chowk is always there in the background. It’s a lively place to be. We get people dropping in all day with different things that need fixing. Some of them are regulars who have been coming to this peth for decades. We don’t have much in the way of a waiting room, just a couple of plastic chairs by the door. Often, the rain leaks a little near the front window during the monsoon, so we have to move the equipment back. It’s just the way these old buildings are. We keep things simple and try to get through the work without too much fuss. Most of us take the bus or walk because parking is almost impossible around the Kasat Chowk area anyway.
