Mobile Wala

Working at Mobile Wala in Dhanakawadi Sector 10 is mostly about looking at very small things through a magnifying glass. We are over in the PCNTDA area, near the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation 2. It’s a lot of tech stuff but the shop itself is pretty basic. I have a workbench that is covered in tiny screws, old batteries, and bits of broken glass from screens. Sometimes I lose a screw and have to spend ten minutes looking for it on the floor. People come in all day with phones that won't turn on or have cracked fronts. I just tell them what I think is wrong and how long it might take to fix it. It gets a bit dusty because of the industrial area nearby, so I am always wiping down the glass counters with a cloth. The light over my desk is very bright which helps with the soldering work. My eyes get tired by the end of the day, so I go for a walk around Sector 10 to clear my head and get some fresh air. We don't have any fancy robots or anything, just my tools and a lot of patience. There are cables hanging everywhere and boxes of spare parts stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a small operation here in Dhanakawadi but we stay busy because everyone has a phone that breaks eventually. I just keep my head down and work on the next device on the pile until it's time to go home.
