Mehta Metal Mart

If you go down to Raviwar Peth at Survey No 317, you’ll find us at Shastri Chowk. Mehta Metal Mart has been in this family for a long time. The shop is filled with all sorts of metal goods, from small parts to bigger sheets. It’s a bit of a maze inside, and if you aren’t careful, you might trip over something. Raviwar Peth is always packed with people and carts, so getting things delivered can be a real struggle. We spend a lot of time weighing metal and calculating prices on our old calculator. It’s loud because of the traffic outside and the sound of metal clanking together. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit disorganized, but I usually know exactly where that one specific piece is buried. We deal with all kinds of people, from builders to folks just fixing something at home. My father used to run things, and now I’m the one here every morning unlocking the shutters. It’s hard work on the back, lifting heavy stuff all day. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just walk in or call the landline. We try to keep things fair and honest. That’s why people keep coming back to Shastri Chowk to see us. It’s just a regular metal shop doing what it’s always done. The floor is usually covered in scrap, but we sweep it at night.
