Mauli General Stores

We have been running Mauli General Stores right here infront of the ST stand in Narayangaon for quite some time now. Being in Pune, the weather gets a bit dry, and there is always a lot of dust from the buses pulling in and out of the station. It is a busy spot. Most of the day is just me or the boys sitting behind the counter waiting for the next bus to arrive so travelers can come grab a bottle of water or some chips for their journey. The shelves are mostly full of things people need in a hurry, like soap, pens, or those small packets of biscuits. Sometimes the fans don't work right when it is hot outside, so we just prop the door open and watch the people going about their business at the stand. It is a simple life. We spend a lot of time just organizing the notebooks and making sure the jars of candy are filled up for the kids who come by after school. There is no big office or anything fancy, just a small space packed with crates and boxes. We know most of the drivers and the people who work nearby, so there is always someone to chat with during the quiet hours in the afternoon. It gets loud when the horns start blaring, but you get used to it after a few years. We just keep things moving and try to stay on top of the inventory so we don't run out of the basics.
