Materi Super Market

We are located on Sinhagad Road in the Chuna Pati area, which is pretty close to the Pu La Deshpande Garden. It is a nice part of town, especially in the evenings when people are heading to the park for a walk. The store is usually busiest right before the sun sets. We spend our mornings checking the stock and cleaning the glass on the refrigerator units. The shelves are packed with everything from soap to snacks, and it feels like we are constantly moving things around to make more room. The floor is made of white tiles that show every footprint, so someone is always walking around with a mop. We have a small counter near the door where we keep the register. It’s a bit cramped behind there, especially when there are two of us trying to bag groceries. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights until the generator kicks in. It’s just one of those things you deal with. We know most of the people who live in the nearby apartment blocks. They come in for milk or bread and stay for a few minutes to chat about the traffic on Sinhagad Road. It can get pretty noisy with the cars outside, but once you step inside, it feels like its own little world. We just keep the shelves filled and the aisles clear as best as we can every single day for the customers.
