Marudwar Industries

Our place is at J-35 on Sasoon Road, right inside the Asha Housing Society area of Sant Tukaram Nagar. It is not a very large building, just a regular industrial unit where we spend most of our daylight hours. Most days start with opening the heavy shutters and letting some air in before the heat really kicks in. We have been working out of this spot for a good while now. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we first moved in, but we just keep doing what we do. Inside, there is usually a lot of noise from the machines and people talking over them. We don’t have a fancy front office or anything like that. If someone comes to visit, they usually just find us on the floor or sitting at the small wooden desk near the entrance. It gets dusty, especially with the traffic on Sasoon Road, so we are always wiping things down. We handle a lot of different jobs depending on what comes through the door. It is honest work and it keeps the lights on. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break for ten minutes. Then it is back to the tasks at hand. There is always something that needs fixing or a part that needs moving. We don't really think about it much, we just get on with the day until it is time to lock up and head home.
