Manakarnika Aushadhalaya

Manakarnika Aushadhalaya is tucked away in Chinchwadagaon, specifically on Padwal Lane. We are in the Shedge Building, which is quite close to Chaphekar Chowk. If you know that intersection, you won’t have much trouble finding us. It’s a very traditional part of Chinchwad, and the building itself has been around for quite a bit. Our shop is filled with the usual jars and bottles you’d expect to find in an aushadhalaya. It smells like herbs and old wood most of the time. We spend a lot of our day talking to people who walk in from the neighborhood, many of whom have been coming here for years. The lane is narrow, so it’s better if you’re walking or on a two-wheeler; cars really struggle to get through here during the busy hours. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a regular place where we keep our stock and help out the locals who need something. Sometimes the rain makes the lane a bit muddy, but that doesn’t stop the daily routine. We open up early, sweep the front, and get ready for whoever stops by. It’s a quiet kind of work, mostly just checking the shelves and making sure we have everything people ask for. We like being near the chowk because there is always life around, but our little corner on Padwal Lane stays fairly grounded and calm.
