Mai Mangeshkar Hospital

Working at Mai Mangeshkar Hospital is usually a bit of a whirlwind. Since we are a bigger facility, there is always something going on in one wing or another. The shifts can be long, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually just ready to head home. We have a lot of different departments, so you see all kinds of things. The hallways are long, and you definitely get your steps in just walking from one end to the other. It’s not one of those ultra-modern places with touchscreens everywhere. It’s more of a traditional hospital environment. We use a lot of paper forms still, and the filing cabinets are pretty full. The staff tries to keep things organized, but on busy days, the desks can look a bit messy. We drink a lot of coffee and tea to stay sharp. The benches in the waiting areas have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s a place where real life happens every single day. There’s no point in pretending it’s anything other than a busy, hardworking hospital. We deal with the usual stuff like broken equipment or the power flickering for a second. We just get on with it. It’s a community of people working together. You get to know your coworkers pretty well when you spend twelve hours a day with them. Sometimes we even forget what time it is until the next shift arrives to take over.
