Mahesh Welding Works

Mahesh Welding Works is located in Dhayarigaon, at 14 3. It’s a workshop, so it’s naturally a bit loud and messy. There is always the smell of burnt metal and the bright flash of the welding torches. We don't have a clean floor or nice chairs for people to sit on. Mostly, there are just pieces of iron, tools, and half-finished projects scattered around. The shop is open to the front, so the dust from the road blows in, and we just sweep it out every now and then. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty by the end of the shift. We wear old clothes that are full of tiny holes from the sparks. People bring in all sorts of things that need fixing, from gate hinges to truck parts. We don't have a formal reception area; you just walk in and talk to whoever isn't wearing a mask at that moment. The sun beats down on the metal roof and makes it very hot inside during the afternoon, but we have a couple of large fans that help a little bit. We’ve been in Dhayarigaon for a while and the people around here know us as the place to go when something made of steel breaks. It’s a simple, honest way to earn a living. We don't have any fancy brochures. We just show up, do the welding, and clear the space for the next job.
