Mahesh Vegetable Services

Mahesh Vegetable Services is located at No. 114/2 in Premlok Colony, right in the Nadhe Nagar area of Kalewadi. We have been working out of this spot for a while, mainly using it as a base to sort through the vegetables we get from the wholesale market. My day usually starts at four in the morning when most people in the colony are still asleep. We bring in crates of spinach, potatoes, onions, and whatever else is in season. The space we have is not very large, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the crates. The floor is often covered in bits of mud and leaves that we have to sweep up constantly. We have a small delivery van that we use to move the goods around the local area. It is an old vehicle and it makes a lot of noise, but it gets the job done. The neighbors in Premlok Colony are nice people and they often stop by to see what is fresh that morning. We don’t have a shop front with glass windows or anything like that. It is more of a warehouse and staging area. Sometimes the vegetables don't look as pretty as the ones in the big supermarkets, but they are fresh and they taste good. We just work hard to get things sorted and sent out before the sun gets too high and the heat starts to wilt the greens. It is just a regular job.
