Mahavir Steels is over in Bhawani Peth, right on Bourdillon Road at Survey No 230. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it is all about the trade and the heavy lifting. We spend our days surrounded by piles of metal and the sound of things being moved around. The ground is always a bit dusty and the walls have seen better days, but it is a workplace, not a showroom. Bourdillon Road is usually packed with trucks and loaders, so there is a constant rumble of engines that you can feel in your feet. We start early in the morning, usually before the sun gets too high, and we don't really stop until it is time to close up the gate at Survey No 230. The desk in the corner is usually covered in chalk dust and scribbled notes about weights and sizes. We don't have any big flashy signs, just the name Mahavir Steels and the work we do. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We usually grab some tea from the shop down the road while we wait for the last deliveries to arrive. It is a simple setup we have here in Bhawani Peth, nothing too complicated or fancy. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of the daily mess that comes with handling steel.
