Mahavir Mini Market

Mahavir Mini Market is located in Bibvewadi at D/3. It is basically a small neighborhood grocery store where we try to keep a bit of everything. We have sacks of grain, lentils, and all the daily household items like soaps and oils. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit so much onto the shelves. If you walk down the aisles, you have to be careful not to knock anything over. We know most of our customers by name because they live in the surrounding buildings and come in every few days. We don't have a computerized billing system or fancy scanners. We just write things down or remember the prices. It can get a bit loud when several people are trying to get their groceries at the same time in the evening. We spend a lot of time weighing out items and packing them into small bags. Sometimes the delivery trucks struggle to find a spot to park on the street, so we have to carry the heavy bags quite a distance. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting crates and stocking shelves until late at night. We don't do any home delivery or anything like that, people just walk in. It is a simple life running a mini market in Bibvewadi. We have been here for a long time and the shop has become a bit of a meeting spot for some of the older folks.
