Running a mobile shop in Vadgoensheri means dealing with a lot of cracked screens and batteries that won't charge. It’s a small place, mostly just a glass counter and some shelves for chargers and cases. We spend most of our hours hunched over a workbench with tiny screwdrivers and tweezers. The light is bright over the repair desk so we can see the small parts inside the phones. Maharaja Mobile is usually full of people asking how long a fix will take or if we have a specific screen protector. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the soldering iron is on. We take in all kinds of phones, some old ones that are barely holding together and new ones that someone dropped on their first day. There’s a lot of talking involved, explaining why a phone is acting up or why a part needs to be replaced. We try to keep things organized, but there are always bits of wire and old phone shells lying around. Sometimes we can't find a part and have to wait for a delivery, which can be frustrating. The neighborhood is growing fast, so there are always new people stopping by. It’s just me and a helper most days, trying to keep up with the repairs while also selling a few accessories. We don’t have any big corporate signs, just the name on the front and our daily work. Most of our customers live right nearby.
