Mahaluxmi Furniture & Interior Decorator

Mahaluxmi Furniture & Interior Decorator is tucked away in the Tamarind Industrial Lane in Baner Gaon. It is quite close to the Matalaxmi Temple, so we hear the bells and the prayers every now and then. The shop is a mix of a workshop and a small space where we show people different laminate samples. It is usually a bit chaotic with planks of wood leaning against the walls and half-finished wardrobes sitting in the middle of the floor. We do a lot of interior work, which means we are often out at sites measuring walls and checking for dampness before we start. Back at the shop, the sound of the circular saw is the soundtrack to our day. It is an industrial lane, so it's not exactly the cleanest place, but it is where the real building happens. We have been here for a while and know most of the neighbors in the other units. There is a lot of sanding and polishing involved in what we do. The dust gets everywhere, even in our hair. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past the temple. The industrial lane gets quite dark in the evenings once the other shops close up. We usually stay a bit later to finish the sanding on a particular piece. My brother usually handles the deliveries in an old van that has seen better days. It is not a perfect setup.
