Mahalaxmi Super Market

My family has been running Mahalaxmi Super Market here at Hingane Khurd 27/1 for a long time now. It’s a busy spot especially in the mornings when everyone comes for bread and milk. We usually open up quite early before the sun is even fully up. The shelves stay pretty packed with all sorts of things like dals, rice, soaps, and those snacks the kids like. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded and dusty, but that’s just how it goes in a place like this. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s not a big fancy mall or anything. It is just a regular shop where we try to keep what people need for their kitchens. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stack boxes in the aisles for a while. We don't have much of a system for the displays, we just put things where they fit. My father started this and now I’m here most days along with a couple of boys who help out. We spend a lot of time counting change and making sure the fridge is running right so the milk doesn't spoil. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking sound but it keeps us cool enough. People stop by to chat about the weather or the traffic while they wait. It’s just how our days pass here in the neighborhood.
