Mahalaxmi Steel

Down at Bhumkar Chowk in Wakad, things are always moving. It’s a busy intersection and there’s always some construction going on nearby. Our place, Mahalaxmi Steel, is right in the thick of it. We are situated near Jain College, so we see a lot of students and faculty passing by our gates every day. It’s a dusty job, working with steel, but someone has to do it. We have a yard where we keep the stock, and it’s usually quite full. The sun can get pretty hot out here in Wakad, but we just keep at it. We don't have a fancy office with leather chairs. We have a desk with a lot of papers on it and a phone that rings quite a bit. People come to us when they are building something, whether it’s a small house or a bigger project. We just tell them what we have available and what the price is. It’s very direct. No marketing fluff or fancy promises. We’ve seen this area grow from almost nothing into a huge suburb, and we’ve been part of that growth in our own small way. Sometimes the traffic at the chowk makes it hard for the trucks to get in, but we manage. It’s just how things are in this part of town. We are proud to be a local business that people can just walk into and get what they need without any hassle.
