M S Balaji Telecommunication sits on the 100 Feet Ring Road in Dhanakawadi, right at the corner of 5th Main and 50 Feet Road in Pramod Layout 13/14. We do a lot of different things here, from phone recharges to selling basic mobile accessories like covers and chargers. The shop is small and has glass counters that I have to wipe down constantly because of fingerprints. I’m usually here from ten in the morning until late at night. There are always people coming in with broken screens or asking why their internet isn't working. I do my best to help them out, even if I’m not an expert on every single model. The walls are covered with posters for different mobile networks and some shelves with old phones we use for parts. It’s noisy because of the traffic on the Ring Road, so we usually have to talk a bit louder. I keep a small television in the corner to pass the time when no one is around. It’s a busy spot, and sometimes people just come in to escape the heat for a minute. We don't have any fancy marketing. People know us because we’ve been here for years. It’s just me and my brother taking turns behind the desk. It’s a decent way to make a living and we stay pretty busy. We just keep things running as best as we can.
