Our place is over in Bhosari, specifically at W 102 in the S Block. If you know the industrial area here, you know it is mostly about heavy metal and trucks moving in and out all day. We deal with a lot of iron and steel, so the yard is always full of heavy rods and sheets. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. Your clothes get stained and there is always a bit of grit in the air. We spend a lot of time checking weights and making sure the loading is done right so nothing shifts during transport. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof in the summer months, but we just get on with it. We have been in Bhosari for a good stretch of time now and know most of the other traders around the block. There isn't any fancy marketing here, just people looking for material for their own projects or construction sites. We handle the orders as they come in; sometimes it’s a small pile and other times it’s a full truckload. It is a lot of lifting and moving, but that is just the nature of the business. We focus on getting the right metal to the right person without any unnecessary talk or delays. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break from moving the heavy stock. There’s a lot of dust from the road and the metal itself, so we are always cleaning off the desks.
