Laxmi Super Market

The daily routine at Laxmi Super Market in Talwade 762 starts with rolling up the big metal shutters and checking the vegetable crates. We are located right at number 762 and it is a pretty large space compared to some of the smaller shops nearby. We have rows of steel racks filled with spices, snacks, and household cleaners. The floor is white tile but it always seems to have some dirt on it from people walking in from the Talwade streets. We have a couple of billing counters but during the rush hour, the lines can get a bit long and people start getting impatient. We spend a lot of time checking expiry dates and moving boxes from the storeroom to the front. The ceiling fans hum all day long and the fluorescent lights can be a bit bright on the eyes. We don't really do much advertising around here. People just know we are here because of the big sign outside. It’s hard work being on your feet all day and by the time evening comes, we are usually pretty tired. We share a tea around four o’clock in the back room just to keep going. It isn't a glamorous business but it is what we do. We make sure the bins are full and the floor is swept before we leave. There is always something that needs to be restacked or cleaned up before the next day begins.
