Laxmi Steel House

Laxmi Steel House is sitting at Narayan Peth Model Gram Road 1. If you come by, you’ll hear the clanging of metal before you even see the door. We deal with a lot of steel, from small rods to big sheets that take two people to carry. The shop is basically one big room filled with racks. It’s heavy work, and our hands are usually covered in some kind of grit by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy display window. Instead, we just lean some of the stock against the wall so people can see what we’ve got in. Narayan Peth is an old area, and our building has been here for a long time. The floor is cracked in a few places from dropping heavy loads, but it holds up fine. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and cutting pieces to size for people who come in with a sketch on a piece of paper. It’s not very high-tech, just saws and measuring tapes. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the back door, so we have to move the stock around. We know most of the local builders who stop by to pick up supplies. We’ve got a couple of stools near the front where we sit when there’s a quiet moment, which isn’t very often. It’s just a regular steel yard where things get done without a lot of fuss.
