Laxmi Bahar Distributors is based out of Sec 27 A, Plot No 297 in Nigdi Pradhikaran. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the Graves Housing Society, which is usually how we explain it to the truck drivers who get lost. The area is quite a mix of homes and small businesses, so there’s always people walking around. Our plot isn’t anything special to look at. It’s a functional space designed for moving goods in and out. We have a lot of crates and boxes that seem to take over every available inch of floor space. The office part is just a small partitioned area with a computer that’s a bit slow and a bunch of ledgers. Distribution is a lot of waiting for deliveries and then rushing to get them out again, so the energy here changes constantly. Some mornings it’s totally silent, and then an hour later, it’s total chaos with everyone shouting instructions. We’ve been in Pradhikaran for a good stretch of time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood grow up around us. We don’t have a fancy website or a glossy brochure to show people. If someone wants to know about us, they usually just come by the plot and see the work being done. It’s a bit dusty and the tea we make in the back is too sweet, but it’s our place. We just focus on getting the products where they need to go.
