Krushna General Store

Krushna General Store is located where Karve Road meets Whitefield Road in Mahadevapura. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always dust and noise. We sell a bit of everything, from soap to snacks and notebooks. The shelves are pretty crowded, and sometimes it's hard to find things if you don't know where to look. We've been here in Mahadevapura for quite a while now. The building is old, and the front door squeaks a bit. We open early in the morning for the people heading to work. It’s just a regular neighborhood shop. We don’t have a computer system for billing; we just use a pen and paper mostly. It’s easier that way for us. People come in for one thing and end up talking for ten minutes. That's just how it goes on Whitefield Road. We try to keep the staples in stock, like milk and bread. Sometimes the shipments are late because of the traffic on Karve Road, but people understand. We don't have any staff, just the family taking turns behind the counter. It’s a lot of heavy lifting when the crates arrive. We aren't trying to compete with the big supermarkets. We just serve the people who live right here. It gets a bit cold in the winters because the front is open, but we just wear our sweaters and keep going.
