Running a garage like Kgn Auto Works over here in Yerwada 146 is mostly about getting grease on your hands and making sure engines are running like they should. It’s loud in the shop sometimes with the tools going, but that's just how a mechanic's life is. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. It’s not a showroom or anything like that. We have tools scattered around and cars parked in whatever space we can find on the lot. People from around Yerwada know where we are. Usually, someone drops by because they heard a weird noise under the hood or their brakes are acting up. We just take a look and see what’s wrong. It’s straightforward work. Some days the heat in the workshop is a bit much, but we just drink some tea and keep going. My hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the city, just a local place on street 146. It’s a small team, mostly just guys who know their way around a wrench. We don't have a front desk or a waiting room with fancy coffee. You usually just find us under a car or talking to a regular out front. That’s how we’ve always done things here. It's a busy neighborhood and there's always something to fix. We just keep the doors open and get to work every morning. It is what it is.
