Kartik General Stores

Kartik General Stores is located in the middle of Pune, specifically in the 411001 zip code area. We have been running this shop for a long time now. It’s a small place, but it keeps us very busy every single day. The morning starts with me getting the keys and opening up the metal shutters. It’s always a bit noisy with the city traffic starting up early. I spend the first hour just putting things back where they belong. We sell all sorts of small items that people need for their houses. Things like batteries, pens, sugar, and tea. The local people who live in the apartments nearby are our main visitors. They stop by on their way to the bus stop or when they are coming home. I know most of their names and what they usually buy. Sometimes we run out of things and I have to tell them to come back tomorrow. It’s just me and one other person here most of the time. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It is just shelves and boxes. The floor is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it works for what we need. We sit behind the wooden counter and wait for the next person to walk in. It’s a simple routine that hasn’t changed much over the years. We just keep going every day and try to stay organized.
