Karne Accident Hospital

We are located in Krishna Chambers, which is right on the Pune Satara Road. Most people know the area because we are very close to Swargate and just opposite the Laxmi Narayan Theatre. That theatre is a big landmark for everyone around Mukund Nagar. Since we handle accidents and emergencies, the location helps because it is on a main artery of the city. The traffic outside is almost always heavy, you can hear the horns and the buses going by from the front windows. Inside, we try to keep things as quiet as possible so patients can rest. It is a practical sort of place. We have the emergency room and the wards laid out so we can move quickly when a call comes in. The staff works in shifts, and there is always someone at the desk, even in the middle of the night. We get a lot of people coming in who are quite stressed, so we just try to be calm and do the work. The building itself has been here for years. It is not one of those new corporate hospitals with a big lobby and fancy cafes. We have some basic seating for relatives and a place to keep records. People come to us from all over Pune because of the Swargate connection. It is just a busy, hardworking hospital where we see a lot of things every day. Sometimes the relatives wait in the corridor when the rooms are full, and we try to make them comfortable.
