If you go down D.R Road in Usmanpura, you’ll find us at A-1. It’s a busy spot near the main road. We started Kareem’S because we knew how to cook and needed a place to do it. The shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch. Most days start with prep work in the back. Chopping, cleaning, and getting the stoves going takes up most of our morning. The air gets thick with the smell of spices pretty quickly. It’s hot in the kitchen, but we’re used to it by now. Usmanpura is a lively neighborhood. There’s always someone walking by or a bike honking outside. We get a mix of people, from workers on their lunch break to families in the evening. We don't really do fancy plating or anything like that. We just put the food on the plate and get it to the customer while it’s still steaming. Sometimes we run out of certain items before the day is over, especially if a large group comes in unexpectedly. It happens. We don't really advertise; people usually just find us by walking past or hearing about us from someone else. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon, but for now, they're okay. We just keep our heads down and keep the kitchen running. It’s honest work and it keeps us going day after day.
