Kanchan Pan Shop is located out in Wagholi. If you’ve been through here lately, you know how much it’s changed. It used to be just a few houses and some fields, but now there are apartments everywhere. Our shop is just on the side of the road. It’s a simple structure, nothing fancy. We’ve got the name Kanchan painted on a board above the door. Inside, it’s just the usual setup with the betel leaves kept cool under a wet cloth. I spend most of my day sitting on a small wooden stool, waiting for people to pull over. Since the road to Wagholi is a main one, we get a lot of travelers. They stop because they need a break from driving. We sell things like soda, water, and obviously, the different kinds of pan. Some people like the strong tobacco ones, others want the sweet stuff. We don’t really have a set schedule, but we’re usually there from morning until late at night. Sometimes it gets lonely when the traffic dies down, but usually, there’s someone to talk to. The dust from the road is a bit of a problem, so we’re always cleaning. It’s a small family-run thing. We don’t have any big plans, just staying here and serving the people who pass by Wagholi every day.
