Kalptaru General Store

Kalptaru General Store is a small shop found in the Laxmiprasad Building, right at Shop No. 2. We are located on Dhoketalim Road in the Nana Peth area of Pune. This part of the city is always full of life and there is a lot of movement on the street outside our door. Being in Nana Peth means we see all sorts of people walking by all day long. The shop is quite straightforward and we do not go in for anything fancy. We mostly just keep the basic things that the local families need for their kitchens and homes. The building is one of the older ones on the road, but it serves us well. We spend a lot of our day just tidying up the shelves and waiting for the next delivery truck to arrive. Sometimes the road gets a bit dusty, so there is a lot of cleaning to do to keep the glass jars looking okay. Most of our customers are people who have lived in this part of Pune for their whole lives. They know where everything is kept in the shop better than I do sometimes. It is a quiet way to earn a living, just being there for the neighborhood. We do not have a big team or any corporate rules, just a simple counter and a ledger. We try to keep the staples in stock so no one has to go far for their sugar or tea.
