It’s usually pretty loud here at Kaku'S Kitchen on Sholapur Road. We started this place because we just like making food that people actually want to eat. You can find us over at 11, N.P.Lines. The kitchen is small, so we’re always bumping into each other, especially when the lunch rush starts and the stove is going full blast. We don't have a big fancy team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who know our way around a pan. Most days, we’re just chopping vegetables or making sure the spices are right. It’s not a glamorous job, and some days the heat is a bit much, but we get through it. People around Sholapur Road know where we are, even if the signage isn't the biggest. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork. Most of our time goes into the pots and pans. Sometimes we run out of things or the delivery guy is late, which is annoying, but that’s just how it goes when you’re running a kitchen. We try to keep things simple and honest. If the food tastes good, we’re happy. If the floor is a bit dusty at the end of a long shift, well, we clean it up and do it all again tomorrow. It’s a lot of work, but it feels okay at the end of the day when the dishes are done and the lights finally go off.
