Our office is in Flat 204, Building A/7, over in the Ajmera Complex in Bhawani Peth. It’s not your typical hospital building that stands on its own; we are part of a larger complex. Bhawani Peth is an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and always crowded with people and goods moving around. Finding Building A/7 can be a bit of a challenge the first time because the Ajmera Complex is quite big. Once you get up to the second floor, things are a bit quieter than the street below. We’ve set up our space to be as functional as possible within a flat. It’s not very large, so we have to be smart about where everything goes. I’ve been here for a few years and you get used to the sounds of the neighbors and the general bustle of the complex. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things here. It feels more like a community office than a big institution. We know the security guards and the shopkeepers downstairs. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s just one of those things you deal with. We focus on our daily records and the people who come in to see us. It’s a honest day's work in a very busy part of town.
