Jijau Organic Producer Company Limited

Our place is at House Number 68 in Palasdev. It’s a small village in the Indapur taluka of Pune district. We started Jijau Organic Producer Company Limited because we wanted to go back to a more natural way of doing things. The soil around here has been worked for a long time, and we thought it was time to treat it a bit better. Our office is just a part of the house. We have bags of organic fertilizer and seeds stacked in the corners. Palasdev is a quiet place for the most part, except when it’s time to take things to the market. We spend most of our days out in the fields, checking the leaves and the soil. It’s not always easy to grow things without the heavy chemicals, but we think it’s worth the extra effort. We don't have any fancy marketing people. It’s just us talking to our neighbors and showing them what we are doing. Sometimes the crops don't turn out like we expected, and we have to start over. That’s just farming. We have a lot of respect for the land and the water. It’s a slow process, but we aren't in a hurry. If you are ever in Indapur, you can come by and see how we do things. We’ll probably be out back working on something. It’s a simple, honest life here in Pune for everyone involved.
