Jehangir Hospital

If you go near Pune 1 Railway Station, you’ll find us easily. Jehangir Hospital is right there in the thick of it. The station area is always a mess of people, luggage, and noise, and we’re just a stone’s throw away. It means we get a lot of people who are just passing through and get sick, or workers from the station who need a check-up. The building is large and has different wings that can be confusing if it’s your first time here. We have a lot of staff, but even then, it feels like we could always use more hands. The reception desk is usually swamped in the mornings with people trying to get appointments. We have some benches outside under a bit of shade where people sit and wait when the inside gets too crowded. The floors are made of that old stone that stays cool even when the weather is boiling outside. We don’t have fancy art on the walls, just some old posters about health and some signs pointing to the different labs. It’s a loud place because of the trains nearby; you can hear the whistles sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a hard job sometimes, but the people here are used to the pace and the noise.
