Jehangir Apollo Hospital

Over at 32 Sassoon Road, things stay pretty hectic at Jehangir Apollo Hospital. It’s a big place and there is always something going on in one corner or another. The staff is usually drinking tea in the small canteen when they get a five-minute break, which doesn't happen often enough. We have a lot of windows, but they mostly look out onto the traffic on Sassoon Road, which never seems to stop. The lobby is usually full of families waiting for news or just taking a rest. We have some older equipment and some newer stuff mixed together in the different wards. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, and we often have to point people in the right direction. The security guards at the front know everyone who works here by sight. It isn't a quiet environment, there’s always a cart being pushed down a hallway or someone calling out for a nurse. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people coming through every single day, it’s a constant battle. The doctors are always in a hurry, moving from one room to the next with their white coats flapping. It’s just a big, working hospital that has been part of this street for a long time. We don't do anything flashy, we just take care of the people who show up at the desk needing help with whatever is wrong.
