Jay Bharat Stores

Jay Bharat Stores is a local shop we’ve been running in Nana Peth for a long time. Pune has grown so much over the years but Nana Peth still feels like the old city. Our shop is tucked away on a street where everyone knows everyone else. We keep a variety of goods like cleaning supplies, stationary, and some dry groceries. It’s not a very modern store. The shelves are made of old wood and some of them have a slight tilt to them but they hold the weight just fine. I open the shop early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Usually, the first customers are people looking for milk or bread for their breakfast. We don't really do any advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. Sometimes it gets a bit quiet in the afternoon and I take a small nap on the chair behind the counter. My wife brings me tea from the house which is just a few streets away. We try to keep prices fair for the local residents because we know everyone’s situation. There isn't a lot of extra space to move around once we get a delivery of new stock. We just pile the boxes up until we can find a place for everything. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes but we know where everything is kept. That's just life at Jay Bharat Stores and we like it.
